Game nights promote team bonding and facilitate connection among its members. Fun and simple games facilitated by a company can enhance one’s cognitive functions, morale, and teamwork, building better communication and relationships within the company. Strengthen your grip, and ball at the back, and prepare your arm to swing, it is Commude Philippines’  bowling night, and we strike without spares.

It was night yet bright in Makati City, it was February 28, 2023, and we, Commude Philippines, are out to enjoy life at night. It was game night.

As traditioned in the company, we carry out recreational activities, such as this Bowling Night to ease the toxicity caused by the environment we work in, at least once a month. Playing bowling after a long stressful day at work helped us release the streams of stress due to our tasks in the office. Aside from it being an active activity, it is something new to some of the employees, stimulating their minds into learning a sport, while keeping their competitive spirits active while enjoying.

Three teams of five were formed in every bowling game, but, rather than the teams competing against each other, we decided to compete individually in every unit to which we belong in. Some are born with bowling skills naturally, while some are befriending the cold, and filthy gutters of the bowling alley, having zeros in the board. Regardless, it wasn’t only the balls that rolled that completed the bliss of the night, but rather, the company of each other, and the socialization that built meaning for each other. Having more time to get to know each other personally while being in a game without worrying about work at all.

At the end of the game, some just released their laughter, some just finally tried playing bowling, and some ended up as victors. Having pride at the end of the game, and the bragging right to feel superior to others when it comes to the game. Regardless of what some ended up with, bowling is just a part of Commude Philippines’ game night, it will always be its “players”, or the members that would bring the best out of everyone, and the fun and thrill out of everything. The night was sparkling. Commude Philippines left no crumbs, they really strike without spares.

In every game, there would always be those that would stand out the most. Some are born to be victors, and some are just there to learn, but, regardless of which player you are, at the end of the day, what matters the most is that you progress and learn comparatively. People always thought that their greatest rivals are their workmates or playmates, but in reality, it would always be themselves, struggling to be better than what they are yesterday, and striving to become better tomorrow. MVP or not, as long as you experience, you learn, as long as you learn, you grow, as long as you grow, you progress, and as long as you progress, the chances of you becoming the best version of yourself is limitless. Forget the skies, there are no limits. We all are limitless, may it be in terms of thrill or learning, we are beyond the horizon of growth.
